Overview

Endovascular & Open Surgery — Session 1

Master vascular suturing techniques and endovascular procedures through an intensive simulation-based programme, with individual performance assessment and a personalised report.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the role of simulation in vascular surgery.
  • Acquire & refine aortic (3/0 & 4/0) and smaller (6/0) TT/TL anastomosis techniques using various simulators.
  • Improve smoothness, regularity & speed in vascular suturing.
  • Plan surgical interventions using sizing techniques.
  • Manipuler les dispositifs médicaux en toute sécurité.
  • Simulate vascular and endovascular procedures.

Evaluation methods

  • Initial, intermediate & final practical assessments
  • Tracking of suturing quality (distance from edge, spacing, wall thickness adaptation)
  • Measurement of smoothness, regularity & timing
  • Endovascular procedure-specific metrics (fluoroscopy time, guidewire/catheter navigation accuracy, number of cannulation attempts, device positioning & deployment precision)
  • Final report with metrics & tracking interpretations
