ESVB provides the perfect opportunity to network, exchange knowledge, create links and form future partnership.

The 13th edition brought together physicians, researchers and companies, to share knowledge about this topics:

— Imaging mechanics and technical implications for the treatment of the superficial artery
— Future trends and biomaterials in vascular surgery
— Future role of functional imaging in vascular surgery decision-making
— Vessel structure and calcifications physiopathology and treatment impact
— Stentgrafts interactions in the aorta
— Key points for innovation

The 3-day symposium included also a Vascular Bootcamp, which allowed 20 interns to have lectures and hands-on practice with the supervision of highly qualified vascular surgeons. The Translational Research Meeting was organized in collaboration with ESVS, which brought together young international researchers who presented their work to well-known surgeons and textile engineers. The Nurse Day was an opportunity for nurses from interventional sectors to learn about current developments in their profession, share their experience and participate in practical workshops.

We are grateful to all of you for participating in this congress. Your insights and expertise are invaluable, and we look forward to see you again in 2025!

The European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterials celebrated its 20th anniversary this year!

The 3-day conference included the Vascular Bootcamp, which took place for the first time in ESVB history at the Education center of GE¨PROVAS. 20 interns and 11 international vascular surgeons participated in this event, in collaboration with our sponsors. The Translational Research Meeting was organized in collaboration with ESVS, which brought together 38 young international researchers who presented their work to well-known surgeons and textile engineers. The Symposium took place over 2 days, with nearly 67 speakers who participated in face-to-face and online sessions. The topics of the year were the following :

• Compliance

• Robotics, non-X-ray guidance, and the latest trends in per-operative technologies

• Updates in endovascular surgery: aortic and peripheral

• Antithrombosis and thrombosis

• The near future and 3D printing technologies in vascular surgery

• Infection

• Education

Our speakers were able to enjoy our city thanks to the various social activities organized in the evening.  Our participants' health is the most important, so we respected all the sanitary requirements to organize this seminar. Despite the sanitary situation, we were able to put together a successful edition!

for Future Individualized Patient Management

in Vascular Surgery

The 11th edition of the ESVB Congress was marked by record attendance and prestigious speakers, more than 70 key opinion leaders spoke about:

• Robotics, non-X-Ray guidance, and latest trends in per-operative imaging technologies

• Updates in endovascular surgery: aortic and peripheral

• Venous diseases

• International research networks in vascular surgery

• 3D printing technologies in vascular surgery

• The near future

The 3-day symposium included also a Vascular Bootcamp, which allowed 20 interns to have lectures and hands-on practice with the supervision of highly qualified vascular surgeons. A Translational Research Meeting was co-organized with the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS). This meeting comprised the Young Researcher Prize and a textile symposium. This 2019 edition was marked by important participation in terms of participants, sponsors, and the success of the Bootcamp as well as the translational research.

When imaging meets biomaterials and living tissue properties in vascular surgery

This was the goal and main watchword of the 10th edition of the ESVB. A fulfilled mission with a focus on the following topics discussed by more than 70 key opinion leaders in the field :

• Durability of vascular and endovascular devices

• Latest trends in per-operative imaging technologies

• Tissue, plaque and vessel wall properties and endovascular technologies

An important place was also given to the updates on the latest endovascular technologies, an integral part of every ESVB edition.

The 3-day symposium included also a Vascular Bootcamp in the GEPROVAS Vascular Surgery Simulation & Training center, which allowed 20 trainees to learn and practice with the supervision of highly qualified vascular surgeons.

After a successful seminar on medical textile in Mulhouse in 2015, the ESVB 2017 held 3 different scientific symposiums and workshops :

• A symposium on medical textile

• A workshop on vascular tissue biobanking

• A workshop on radiation safety

Every two years, the ESVB meeting brings to life the multidisciplinary approach to research and development activities in the field of vascular biomaterials. In this context, the ESVB symposium focuses on current topics relating to materials, techniques, and technologies. ESVB 2015 was a great success with the participation of international key opinion leaders concentrating on:

• New technologies for thoracoabdominal and abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment

• Review of infrainguinal technologies & techniques

• Review of debulking technologies & devices

In 2015, the poster prize of the Young Researcher Prize and the Vascular Bootcamp (known as the satellite evens) were introduced and extremely successful.
